Golden 1 Credit Union Grants Annual Scholarships to College-Bound Californians

Nearly $500,000 in scholarships awarded to over 40 exceptional students

Golden 1 Credit Union (Golden 1) is pleased to announce nearly $500,000 in college scholarships have been awarded to over 40 students throughout California. The recipients, ranging from incoming freshmen to seniors, are set to attend in-state colleges and universities this upcoming academic year. These remarkable students were selected based on their outstanding community service and academic accomplishments.

“At Golden 1, we believe in the power of education to shape futures, foster innovation, and strengthen communities,” said Erica Taylor, Senior Vice President of Community Impact and Public Relations Officer for Golden 1 Credit Union. “Through our scholarship program, we provide essential support to our members, allowing us to contribute directly to the educational aspirations of students across the state.”

Golden 1’s scholarship program provides financial assistance valued at up to $20,000 per student to the Credit Union’s members and their dependents. Recipients include full-time students who plan to attend accredited, nonprofit two-year community colleges or four-year colleges and universities in California. Awardees receive scholarships based on their academic achievements, community involvement, extracurricular activities, education, and career goals.

“From first-generation college students to aspiring entrepreneurs, we were inspired by the impressive ambition and resilience displayed by this year’s candidates,” added Taylor. “These recipients truly showcase the essence and promise of our communities. We are so proud to play a role in furthering their education and are eager to see them achieve their goals.”

Since launching its scholarship program in 2013, Golden 1 has awarded close to $5 million to nearly 600 California college-bound students.
